YPMP mentees triumph at Law Development Center Graduation

Every student dreams of success and achieving it is a testament of their triumph over any challenges along the academic journey.  The Young Professional Mentorship Program (YPMP) is elated to celebrate three members of its mentees who graduated with a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC) on 12th April 2024.  The LDC, Uganda’s only institution offering the prestigious Bar Course held its 51st graduation ceremony at the Mbarara Campus where 350 students received their diplomas.

Murungi Vasta Flower, a Program Mentor and Alumnus of YPMP Class of 2023 expressed a multitude of emotions “I am feeling grateful, happy, empowered, and ready to advocate for children and teenage mothers’ rights in society.  I am also excited to practice law and advance social justice”

Ainembabazi Justine, a mentee from YPMP Class of 2024 was equally excited. “I feel a profound sense of accomplishment, relief. It’s a moment of triumph, signaling the culmination of hard work, dedication and perseverance. Marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of countless possibilities”

Lakech Alice Kethleen, another YPMP Class of 2024 mentee shared a more personal journey of overcoming challenges “Graduation from the bar course is a dream come true. Right from the time I was in my first year of law school, I felt tensed about LDC. I remember hearing about the pressures in the course as well as the high failure rates. While there, I felt all the pressures, anxiety and fears. All of it!! One thing for certain that I did was to pray like I don’t read and read like I don’t pray. I am grateful for excelling at it on first attempt as they call it .A journey started was successfully accomplished

Every step of a professional journey holds great significance, and YPMP is immensely proud of these graduates. Their achievement will open doors for more opportunities within the legal field and we stand committed to supporting them in all future endeavors.
